In France, exchange rates are not regulated! Any exchange office can set the rates it wants. Yes, France is a country of freedoms! But be careful, this means that if you are not vigilant, you can get different amounts.
How is the exchange rate calculated in France?
Let’s take the case where you have 100 dollars to exchange: the exchange rate will be calculated based on the international rate. We use this to calculate our buyback rate: 3, 4, 5, sometimes 10% less.
Sometimes, in some exchange offices, fees are added: handling fees, conversion fees, etc.
This sometimes results in large differences between exchange offices.
Don’t hesitate to ask us at the counter. You can even ask for a « test » ticket to be sure.
And if you have exchanged dollars and want to cancel the transaction, at CCO, you have the day to do so. With others, it can be very complicated. French law does not allow the cancellation of a financial transaction.
