Chef militaire, il se fait rapidement conna\u00eetre dans son pays puis acc\u00e8de \u00e0 la fonction pr\u00e9sidentielle en 1883, et conserve son poste jusqu\u2019en 1902. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A la fin du XIXe si\u00e8cle, l\u2019Afrique du Sud est d\u00e9crite comme une gigantesque r\u00e9serve aurif\u00e8re. C\u2019est assez logiquement que les britanniques engagent la bataille pour prendre possession de cet or. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul Kruger incarne l\u2019image d\u2019un chef d\u2019Etat puissant et du nationalisme afrikaner. Une soixantaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es plus tard, la premi\u00e8re pi\u00e8ce d\u2019or Krugerrand (Kruger en hommage au pr\u00e9sident sud-africain + rand, l\u2019unit\u00e9 mon\u00e9taire d\u2019Afrique du Sud) voit le jour d\u00e8s 1967.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Fort de son succ\u00e8s, aujourd\u2019hui la Krugerrand est une des pi\u00e8ces d\u2019or les plus iconiques au monde. Il faut comprendre qu\u2019\u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1960, l\u2019Afrique du Sud repr\u00e9sentait \u00e0 elle-seule pas moins des trois quarts de la production d\u2019or dans les pays occidentaux. Le pays accorde une place toute particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019or  et il soutient sa production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Malheureusement, une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es plus tard, la demande du Krugerrand s\u2019effondre subitement \u00e0 la suite de sanctions \u00e9conomiques en raison de la politique en vigueur quant \u00e0 l\u2019apartheid. Dans les pays occidentaux, l\u2019importation de Krugerrand \u00e9tait ill\u00e9gale. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019en 1994 que les sanctions sont lev\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Description de la pi\u00e8ce<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Index\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019or et dot\u00e9e d\u2019une puret\u00e9 de 917 pour 32,8mm de diam\u00e8tre et 33,93 grammes, cette pi\u00e8ce voit sa valeur chuter ou grimper selon la valeur du m\u00e9tal pr\u00e9cieux.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Recto : On y retrouve le portrait de l\u2019ancien pr\u00e9sident Paul Kruger, de profil. Sa valeur est fonction de son contenu en or pur . Sur le long terme, sa courbe est haussi\u00e8re. De sa cr\u00e9ation en 1967 \u00e0 aujourd\u2019hui, le cours a connu des remont\u00e9es marqu\u00e9es \u00e0 chaque crise \u00e9conomique ou inflation \u00e9lev\u00e9e..
