En 2010, Le monde de l’or est secou\u00e9 par le reportage d’une cha\u00eene allemande dans lequel un employ\u00e9 de\u00a0WC Heraeus, l’un des plus grands affineurs d’or d’Europe, montre \u00e0 la cam\u00e9ra un lingot de 500 grammes\u2026 qui est en fait un lingot de tungst\u00e8ne.Depuis, plusieurs autres cas de lingots au tungst\u00e8ne ont \u00e9t\u00e9 m\u00e9diatis\u00e9s.Malgr\u00e9 les rares cas d\u00e9tect\u00e9s, le doute s’installe aussi dans l’esprit des investisseurs particuliers, \u00e0 l’heure o\u00f9 l’or est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme la valeur refuge par excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n

L’or et le tungst\u00e8ne<\/strong> ont des masses volumiques tr\u00e8s proches c’est pourquoi ce m\u00e9tal pourrait \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour des faux lingots. Pour contrer ces faux, il faut s’int\u00e9resser \u00e0 une autre propri\u00e9t\u00e9 physique, par exemple la r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 car celle du tungst\u00e8ne est quasiment 3 fois sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle de l’or.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pour cela, nous utilisons un micro-ohmm\u00e8tre<\/strong> qui permet de faire passer un courant dans le lingot en appliquant 2 pinces \u00e0 ses extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s. Cela ne fonctionne que sur les contrefa\u00e7ons de lingots de 1 kg<\/strong> et plus (notamment les barres de 12 kg) car il faut un certain \u00e9cart entre les pinces.Les pi\u00e8ces et les petits lingots de 50 \u00e0 500 gr ne peuvent \u00eatre test\u00e9s par cet appareil.Plusieurs sites recommandent de\u00a0faire tester les lingots par ultrason<\/a><\/strong> pour en v\u00e9rifier la puret\u00e9 car au regard des caract\u00e9ristiques du tungst\u00e8ne, les tests de base de densit\u00e9 et de rayon X ne suffisent pas.<\/p>\n

Le faux<\/strong>\u00a0lingot est fourr\u00e9<\/b>, c’est \u00e0 dire que l’on a for\u00e9 des trous dans le lingot, enlev\u00e9 de l’or et que dans ces trous l’or a \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9 par du tungst\u00e8ne (dont la densit\u00e9 est proche de celle de l’or).<\/p>\n
